Kelly Construction Co is Marc Kelly — a registered builder and qualified carpenter who's spent two decades on the tools, and who's still the one across the detail of your build.
The story
From the Riverina to inner Melbourne.
Marc grew up on a mixed farm near Ganmain, in the Riverina region of southern NSW. His love of building started early — with the beautiful old homesteads, rammed-earth houses and massive shearing sheds of the district, and an enduring awe at their history, craftsmanship and care.
He began a carpentry apprenticeship in 2007 under respected Danish-expat builders Jari and Rudi Nielsen, following his older brother into the trade. In 2011 he moved to Melbourne to work on larger projects — bayside renovations and extensions as a lead carpenter, then site and people management with a tier-one façade contractor.
From 2015 to 2018 Marc worked in the UK for LDB Construction, first as a carpenter and then as site foreman on prestigious homes in Belgravia, Notting Hill and Holland Park — exceptionally high-quality building on projects in the £5–8 million range. Back in Melbourne, he managed major commercial façade packages before deciding it was time to return to the work he was passionate about.
In 2021, Marc built Kelly Construction Co from the ground up — back to hands-on work, for appreciative clients. What started with a few bathroom renovations has grown into the considered renovation, extension and restoration work the business is known for today.
